A meal fit for superheroes

Every Friday at the Park View we have a rather tasty meal deal. For just ten of your English pounds you get two burgers, fries and all the other  stuff that makes a burger such a wonderful meal. To promote the night, which runs from 5pm until 7pm, we made, what we think, is a fun animation.

By the way, the curry night mentioned in the movie takes place on the first Thursday of each month.

Muffin Baking at the PVC

Since the start of the year we at the The Park View Cafe have been baking our own muffins, which are proving to be a big hit with our customers. For the first few weeks we concentrated on apple and carrot muffins with a pumpkin and sunflower seed crumble topping.
These delicious muffins also contain a whole host of other ingredients, such as coconut and raisins, delivering bags of flavour.
In fact, they represent a meal in themselves. And what a meal. They make a fantastic start to the day.
More recently we have been baking blueberry muffins with a crumble topping.
The last batch of Blueberry muffins, which we produced for the weekend of  March 3, 2012, were without doubt the best batch yet, and all involved, Jon and Becky in particular, should be proud of their efforts, as the muffins would hold their own against the best.
This week we are going to change again and are looking to produce our very own chocolate muffins

Maintenance

We are going to be closed on Saturday 20th August for some essential maintenance works. We're really sorry for the inconvenience, but we will be turning the water off so opening would be a bit tricky. Business as usual after that.

Summer is here...

... well sort of! If you're feeling in a summery mood we've got a selection of ice creams and lollies for sale in the cafe, from tubs of dairy ice cream to Fabs and Cornettos. And we've got the tables and chairs out the front if you fancy an alfresco lunch.
A big thank you as well to our work experience girl Lisa who has been helping us out on Saturdays for the last few weeks (we are open from 9am to 4pm for those who didn't know). She's been a fantastic help and we will miss her when she goes to college!

Photomarathons and bank holidays

Firstly, we will be closed on Monday 30th May and Tuesday 31st May for the bank holiday, re-opening as usual on the Wednesday. The day after that is curry night again - last time we had 20 or so people and it was a cracking night; £6 per head, ring the cafe if you would like to book a table.

We're on the fourth week of our photomarathon as well, the photos that the competitors have been taking have been excellent; here's a few examples to show what they have been up to. There's plenty of spaces left - we will be running the competition all the way through the summer; if you want to book a place, give Steve a ring on 02920 382151.
